We recommend that your portable fire extinguishers are commissioned and maintained in accordance with the following Code of Practice:  BS 5306-3

What legislation says my fire extinguishers need servicing?

BS5306-3 which relates to commissioning and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and BS 5306-8 which relates to selection and installation of portable fire extinguishers

Do my fire extinguishers need maintenance labels?

Yes - a portable fire extinguisher must have a service label attached which shows the date it was commissioned, it's service history thereafter and the persons responsible for verifying its fitness for purpose
